There are many scriptures that talk about knowing God. One of the characteristics of a living being is that they are usually able to communicate their thoughts to us in some way. One of my favorite scriptures is John chapter 10 verse 27 where Jesus tells us that His sheep hear His voice. In verse 14 of the same chapter Jesus says that He is the good shepherd and he knows His sheep and His sheep know him. Anyway there is a whole lot more to say on this point.
Check those scriptures out and Hebrews 11:6 and give me another question. Also check out 2nd Peter 3:18 where we are actually commanded to grow in grace and in the knowledge of God. Not just the book or facts kind of knowledge but begin to be aware of His presence right now around you. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you and He will. (Hebrews 11:6)
This blog is dedicated to the discussion of the possibility of experiencing the real, honest-to-goodness presence of God as individual humans. Enjoy!
...so what about God?
If you are a person who thinks that God, that is the God of the Bible, is only accessable at the local Sunday morning First Church of Whatever then you are in for a wonderful suprise. He, God, is a person with a real personality and the capability to communicate with you, an individual human, in real time and in the lanquage and/or vernacular that you can understand. You are welcome to add to this discussion!
If you are a person who has experienced God's nearness, His love, and His voice, you are welcome here as well.
Finally, if you are a person who thinks this whole subject is a bunch of mystical foolishness well...you are welcome too. You may teach some of us how to defend our position. In any case, enjoy!

I think that to begin to "know God" one must begin to treat Him as a person; although certainly a person in the spiritual dimension. However, I believe that God has a specific personality complete with emotions, desires, and the ability to communicate with humans in real time, among other attributes. Finally, for those who might doubt my assertions, I believe that the Bible reveals just such a Person.

...so what about God?
...so what about God, the God of the Bible? Is He relevant to anything going on in the world on July 2nd, 2010? Don't you have to be a member of a church to make God happy? Don't you have to be a member of the clergy to know God personally? Does anybody have an answer?
